The IWI-S course consists of the one week training delivered in the IWI-B course and an additional three-day course of 24 hours held immediately after IWI-B. The course covers the syllabus of the IWI-B course as outlined on Page 3, with an additional three days covering inspection and NDT techniques required for IWI-S.
The course does not cover welding technology training (IIW module WT2) that should be completed within International Welding Specialist (IWS) training or other equivalent formal training (ref.Alternative Routeoption below) before accessing the course.
The Welding Inspector - Standard (IWI-S) is delivered as one week (40 hrs) International Welding Inspector - Basic (IWI-B) course with additional 3 days (24 hours) training.
This course requires proficiency in the comprehension and writing of English as used in the engineering industry, in basic mathematics, and the ability to write reports.
