The course is aimed at persons who are involved with pressure equipment inspection and technical people who are employed within the fabrication or maintenance of pressure equipment, owner inspection or in third party inspection organisations. The inspection of boilers and pressure vessels, as required by regulation, needs to be made at the time of fabrication and at regular periods during the service life of the pressure equipment. It is essential that such inspections are thorough, effective and complete. To accomplish this, persons need to be trained and be competent.

The inspector needs to be well informed of the causes of accidents, defects and reasons for deterioration of the boiler or pressure vessel.
