General description of the activity
HERA has an advanced in-house finite element analysis (FEA) capability, which is integral part of the experimental design and verification in HERA’s Structural Steel and New Zealand Welding Centre applied research related activities.
In addition, this capability supports some seminars organized by HERA (e.g. fatigue), it has been employed in preparations of new structural design procedures and in a variety of consulting applications ranging from small to large.
Our aim is to use the finite element technology to the benefit of the New Zealand industry, but we are open-minded to all other employment areas where FEA can make an important contribution. Therefore, we look forward to solving other types of engineering problems from the wider engineering community. Further clarification of what is involved in this type of simulations is given in our
FEA brochure, while to read the selected/illustrated list of practical problems solved in our experience, please click
