This is because we are now influenced by constant change, geopolitical volatility, technological disruptions, economic and political uncertainty, climate change, and a growing social conscience.
Our steel industry is under increasing pressure to respond. We are seen as low-tech, carbon intensive and unattractive. How can we respond to improve public perception? Ensure we attract and retain staff? Or, be genuine leaders in the construction and manufacturing sectors?
This Future Forum is about navigating the change and dramatic evolution required to be a ‘Next Gen Led’ business that understands:
- how to respond to the carbon accusations of timber vs steel;
- the decarbonisation journey for steel;
- how industry 4.0 technologies impact our industry- this year with a focus on digital twinning;
- how to engage with Māori in a te ao Māori way, and why that is important for our industry; and
- likely global economic impacts on the steel industry.
