HERA has long understood that clean energy represents a great business opportunity for many of our members – particularly in the geothermal sector.

That’s why we’re pleased to announce Dr. Boaz Habib from our Industry Development team now sits on the New Zealand Geothermal Association (NZGA) Board of Directors.

We see this as a pivotal link to help strengthen ties between the geothermal and heavy engineering sector by opening doors to our members currently involved in the AGGAT R&D program.

As a New Zealand-based scientific, educational and cultural organisation, the NZGA’s non-political, non-governmental, non-profit structure and affiliation with the International Geothermal Association (IGA) and Royal Society of New Zealand (RSNZ) places us in a stronger position both nationally and abroad to advocate for low enthalpy geothermal technology to support our members pursuing product development and business growth here.

This coupled with NZGA’s solid membership platform and focus to encourage, facilitate and promote coordination of activities in global research, development and application of geothermal resources, will improve our access to funding, information and wider support networks.

We look forward to representing the views of the heavy engineering manufacturing sector and the value that being on the NZGA board will bring to our members.
