Financial and Project Manager, Jensen Steel Fabricators Ltd

I am the Financial Manager at Jensen Steel Fabricators Limited. I am responsible for funding, risk management, forecasting, and budgeting. I have been in this position for the past 6 years. I also have 7 years’ experience as a Project Manager, where I manage programmes to ensure deadlines are met. This sees me involved in all facets of structural steel delivery. From detailing to material supply, fabrication, coatings, and site installation.

Within our business, we have established relationships with many of New Zealand’s leading main contractors to supply structural steel. We have worked on projects from Wellington to Kaitaia – with the majority being delivered in the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Auckland regions.

We have contributed to many projects of national significance including Eden Park, Sky City, Avantidrome (Cambridge), Huntly Power Station, Rotokawa Geothermal Station, and University Campuses. Being based in Mt Maunganui we provide a lot of service to the Port of Tauranga, Kiwifruit packhouses and coolstores, and a lot of the primary industries in the wider Bay of Plenty such as timber processing and dairy processing facilities.

For our industry to thrive in the future some issues need continued work. We must continue to attract young people to our industry. We also need to showcase to key stakeholders and the public the sustainability of metals and the benefits the industry provides to New Zealand communities.
