Jayden Mellsop

I’ve been with Eastbridge since 2015, where I’m charged with managing complex design, build and installation projects in bridge construction.

A steel bias has been bred into me – having grown up exposed to the family business. My passion is solving technical design and construction issues with the client to deliver the best value outcome for stakeholders.

Following studies, I started my career pathway in Auckland and Canada. Entering the contracting realm with Brian Perry Civil / Fletcher, followed by a short stint in the design office at BBO Hamilton.

Now at Eastbridge, its fair to say we love heavy stuff! Anything big, chunky and with a lot of welding!

Key project highlights I’ve been involved with include the design & build of several projects across New Zealand and abroad. In particular, eight bridges in Fiji, four truss bridges which were part of a relief package post-Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu, the Network Arch Cambridge Pipe Bridge, and the Memorial Avenue Arches for Russley Road in Christchurch.

It’s this experience I bring to the Executive Board, as well as my drive to be a strong advocate for supporting the domestic fabrication & construction industry.

I recognise our need to grow, upskill & become more efficient to maintain a competitive advantage against global competition. I want to be part of ensuring that happens, and I’m not afraid to challenge the status-quo!
