Digital Connections Officer
I’m a qualified librarian with a Masters in Library and Information Studies (MLIS). I’m also a professionally registered LIANZA member, holding qualifications in teaching and education as well.
For the last 20 years I’ve worked in mostly academic libraries. Specialising in the dissemination of information literacy skills to academics and tertiary students. My other skills revolve around customer service and communication.
At HERA I’m responsible for the implementation and smooth running of our new library management system. I’m also the Health & Safety Officer, implementing Environment, Health & Safety policies to safeguard our reputation and protect management from liability by ensuring compliance. Developing and sustaining a safe environmentally sustainable work place as a result.
Most of my previous work in libraries has revolved around knowledge management in the areas of academic research resources. Where I’ve presented a session on copyright and the Creative Commons.
I hope to bring all this experience to my role, where I’m confident my knowledge in librarianship, skills in academic research resources and methods will contribute to our projects.
Working at HERA is a most rewarding experience for me. As it offers a challenging and professionally stimulating environment where my special skill set can make a difference.
