Steel import levy tonnages year-to-date: March 2024

We are witnessing a decline in the import volumes of steel, with March 2024 marking the lowest point in the past decade. This trend aligns largely with the anticipated fluctuations in the construction sector over the next 6-9 months. We hope that more projects will be secured and announced in coming months to give greater certainty to our members. HERA is committed to delivering against our agreed research and industry support program for the year and anticipates a deficit for the year’s operations, which will be supported by built-up reserves.
