HERA is happy to introduce Ngato-Zharnaye Livingstone to the team as our new Customer Support Assistant.

Ngato was our successful applicant for our Customer Support Assistant role, standing out amongst the many applicants we had! In the last few weeks, Ngato has been guided by her predecessor Taylah Nicol and Manager Customer Experience, Rebecca Symonds, in managing the social posts, in house events, website updates and front desk operations.

In the future, we hope she’ll sink her teeth into supporting our podcast ‘Stirring the Pot’ as well as our mātauranga Māori program of works and invigorating our student membership offerings.

Rebecca saying: “I am thrilled to have Ngato on board!  She is a breath of fresh air in the office, is picking up her role quickly and is already engaging well with our members and working cooperatively beside me in streamlining administrative processes.”

Some of the things that really stood out for Ngato was both her enthusiasm to learn new things and her communication skills and background. As such, we are doing something a little different when it comes to introducing her… as we’re going to let her do so directly!

Nau mai haere mai e Ngato!

Customer Support Assistant, Ngato-Zharnaye Livingstone.

I te tuatahi, he uri tēnei nō Ngāti Hine me Tūhoe hoki. Ko Ngato-Zharnaye Livingstone ahau.

Growing up, anything different or creative intrigued me – from colouring in pictures outside of the lines to reading every single book about the solar system in my primary school library! I look forward to bringing the same curiosity to HERA.

I have lived in Whangārei the majority of my life. In 2019, I decided to move down to the ‘big smoke’ in search of new plains. Fast forward to 2022, I have graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Communications, and I have also spent the same year reclaiming my reo Māori through the Rumaki Reo (full immersion te reo Māori) course at Te Wānanga o Takiura.

The steel industry, welding and engineering in general, is all so new to me which is what led my curiosity to apply to be a part of the HERA team. As Customer Support Assistant, I hope to understand more about this new environment and strengthen my weaknesses too!
